East Boundary Hotel is located on Centre Road in Bentleigh. This place is a typical hotel with a gaming floor, bar, lounge, and a large family style bistro with kids play area. I visited this place for my first time, but my partner had been here several times before and let me know how great the food was. Well that was back then many years ago, seeings like a lot has changed since his last visit.
They have a large carpark out the back to cater for the large number of people that can fit in to the hotel. When I entered the bistro area, I was impressed with how clean the place looked. There was heaps of families around and kids running everywhere, but thats what you get at these family friendly places. It was great to see the children having such a good time.
After we sat at our table, we lined up in the huge line to order some food. We were quite impressed with how they brought everyone’s food out at the same time, and we were a group of 17 people too!
I choose the caeser salad with grilled chicken (20.00). The lettuce did not look green at all, it looked like the insides of an old lettuce, and most of the leaves were brown. The chicken was okay though, and so were the anchovies. But overall I was not happy and could not understand how a chef could send food out looking the way it did.
My partner ordered the rib-eye fillet (33.00). It came served with a potato still in its foil and coleslaw oon the side. The steak was well over cooked, to the medium rare that we asked, and again we were not satisfied with the meal given we paid $33.00 for this.
We also ordered a bowl of fries, well you can’t really go wrong with chips!! we finished them off nicely.
The other people on our table ordered different dishes, and they too werent’ very happy with what they were served. So overall I can’t rate the food at all, but the staff were friendly, and the service was quick. The facilities looked great and if they can master getting the food right, I reckon this place would be a hit.
Open from 8am – 4am everyday

Oh dear…what a meal! So sorry to hear that it didn’t come out as you expect. I would hate that too. Hope you get a better meal next time…..elsewhere!
Yeah I don’t think I’ll be going back there in a hurry, though people do rave about that place, maybe We caught them on a bad day
These type of pub meal places are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you can find some real gems. The fit the bill when you have a large group. Hopefully your next group outing is more successful!
Yes so true deb, they cater well for large family groups or parties, and hotel/pub prices are always affordable
Oh dear, it doesn’t sound like a very impressive meal does it
the dishes didn’t look that appealing either. Hopefully we don’t get that again
Your partner sounds like my husband. He can never resist a rib-eye if it’s on the menu!
That coleslaw looks about as fresh as the Caesar lettuce
I’d be very disappointed too, even at half the price!
Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!
I found your blog using Yahoo and I must say this is one of the most informative blogs I have read in a while. I will make sure I come back to read your future posts.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
